Indie Flick "Humboldt County": Rom-Com With Bongs [Oh, God, Here We Go]

Seth Rogan and Pineapple Express introduced America to the concept of the Stoner Action film quite successfully in 2008. So is it immediately time for a Stoner Romantic Comedy with the bad witch from The Craft? Evidently, yes.
Humboldt County, released in select cities September 28, 2008, takes witchayyy woman Fairuza Balk, the mom from Six Feet Under, and two newby directors/writers—and puts them behind/around leading man Jeremy Strong. Strong plays Peter, a med student about to graduate and begin his residency. When his professor (Dad) fails him, he winds up in bed with an actress and singer named Bogart rolling through Los Angeles. He accompanies her to the northern most tip of California, ... eccentric family of pot farmers. ... Bogart runs away … picturesque and bizarre … yada yada. Indeed.
Surprisingly, the trailer doesn’t look as awful as say, Billy Bob Thorton’s 1998 bomb Homegrown. It looks rather like an illicit Garden State.
