A moment of Dope: R.I.P. Reno 911!
Reno 911! co-creator and The State alumn Thomas Lennon announced via twitter today that Reno 911! had been canceled. Which is a shame, because the show remains one of the funniest, most outrageous offerings on cable television – whether it’s undercover narcs stinging each other by accident, or Raineesha Williams’s bootie-rants. “Hey! Uh-huh.”
Chatting with Lennon a few months back, he seemed ambivalent about the success of the six-season-long show, which has forever immortalized him in short-shorts as the desperate, gay, borderline psychopath leader of Reno’s misfit band. We, for one, convey our deepest thanks for the wonderful work of Dangle, Trudy and the gang.
Raise your pistols high in the air and squeeze off a few rounds for Reno. They protected and served in ways we’ll never fully know. [Reno 911!]
