Dope Boy: Patton Oswalt

With observations that reference drugs, alcohol, classic sci-fi films, and comic books, Patton Oswalt has always been our kind of comedian. His latest stand-up act, “My Weakness is Strong,” proves to be some of his best material to date, as he explains why he needs to cure his depression in time for the apocalypse that will surely resemble The Road Warrior, and how fatherhood has curbed his intake of whiskey, weed, and LSD.
Oswalt also stars in the upcoming independent film, Big Fan. Ratatouille notwithstanding, Oswalt plays his first lead role as an obsessive fan of the New York Giants who gets accosted by his favorite player at a strip club. Looks like Oswalt shows both comedic as well as dramatic talent in this film written and directed by Robert Siegel, who also penned last year’s critical hit, The Wrestler.
“My Weakness is Strong” is available now in most music and movie retailers. Big Fan releases throughout the fall in select theaters. [Patton Oswalt], [Big Fan]
