Los Angeles voters support medical cannabis dispensaries with a strong majority

Behold the photo of a man who is out of touch. Dangerous Minds (a website TDR highly endorses) has a great post about how LA City Atty. Carmen Trutanich is trying to crack down on the plethora of new marijuana dispensaries that are popping up all over the city. The only problem is he is being cockblocked by both the voters and the federal government itself.

Exhibit A

“Unfortunately for Trutanich, U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder feels that prosecution of medical marijuana patients should be a low priority for law enforcement officials and said so in a memo released Monday. Ouch.”

Exhibit B

“Trutanich and L.A. County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley got another setback on Monday as well when a circuit judge ruled that the city’s moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries was illegally extended. Double ouch.”

Bottom line is that Trutanich’s proposal will get no traction due to its inept and outdated rhetoric. It’s 2009 ladies and gentlemen, get familiar.
