What drugs are they taking in outer space ?
You would be surprised at what these astronauts are indulging in while in space. Booze seemed obvious but scopolamine? For those who don’t know, it’s famous in Colombia as a drug that’s used to get tourists to willingly give over all items of value – that’s right – willingly. There is an incredibly entertaining and eye opening documentary that Vice Magazine did on this drug that is essential viewing. Also, they brew their own beer ? Pretty cool…
Outer space, at least as we encounter it in science fiction, is basically a drug free-for-all. If character’s aren’t piloting starships on Melange or Somec, then they’re playing with dolls on Can-D or pumping their brains full of Merge Nine, Semuta and whatever passes for rave music 20,000 years from now.
